What Insights.gg does
Insights Capture
Insights Capture is free to download and use, and it's only available for Windows PC 1. Insights describes it as "clipping software for PC that records every match automatically", with capture support for more than 10,000 PC games and game event support for 45 or more 1,9. Insights' own October 2026 post says the current version runs standalone, without Overwolf 4. The download buttons on insights.gg, its Call of Duty page included, still point to Overwolf's installer service, and Overwolf's store still lists Insights Capture 1,2,5.
The VOD Review Tool
You upload your recordings to Insights' web review tool, timestamp events, draw and comment on plays, and run live review sessions with teammates, with permissions you control 1. Insights says the product is "built for gamers, teams, and coaches" 1.
Plans and pricing
Basic is free with 5 GB of active storage 3. The paid plans on the pricing page are team bundles of "Elite Seats": Silver is $39 a month for 5 seats and 200 GB, Gold $79 for 8 seats and 750 GB, Platinum $109 for 13 seats and 1,500 GB, and Diamond $229 for 20 seats and 5,000 GB, with lower monthly prices billed yearly 3. Every bundle includes the automatic game recorder, a team portal, clipping, highlights and live VOD review 3. The pricing page lists no individual paid plan 3. Insights' home page also mentions premium options to remove ads, unlock more features or expand storage, without listing a price 1. The free app showed ads in our test.
What Insights.gg leaves to you in ranked CoD
What happened in our Black Ops 7 test
In our test on October 10, 2026 (Insights Capture 3.8.0, Black Ops 7), Insights Capture recorded one continuous session from the moment the game launched. It received no game events (no match start or end, and no kills), so it created no highlights or bookmarks. After we stopped that recording, it didn't start a new one for the next match. Insights' own app says auto recording, highlights and bookmarks depend on game events.
The review is still yours to do
Insights records and marks moments in the games it supports, and the VOD Review Tool is where you or your team do the reviewing: timestamps, drawings and comments you add yourself 1. Which Call of Duty it covers isn't spelled out
Insights' Call of Duty page says "Call of Duty" without naming which releases it covers 2, and its Overwolf store listing names Call of Duty: Modern Warfare among its supported games 5. An August 2026 Insights post on recording Call of Duty mentions Black Ops 7 but doesn't say which events it detects there 8.
Rank and SR tracking isn't described
None of the Insights pages we checked describe tracking your rank or SR 1,2,3. In Black Ops 7 Ranked Play, where you finish on the scoreboard changes your SR: a top 4 finish adds a bonus to a win, and finishing 5th to 8th in a loss costs 10 to 40 more SR 6,7. The paid plans are built for teams
Every paid plan on Insights' pricing page is a bundle of 5 to 20 seats 3. That fits a team that reviews together. The only plan there without a seat bundle is the free Basic plan with 5 GB 3.
