Call of Duty coaching turns how you play into a short list of fixes you can practice. RankKD does that review for you. After every match, it goes through your own footage and hands you each fix with the seconds of video that prove it. It never runs while you play.
Call of Duty fundamentals
These are the habits that win gunfights and games, area by area.
Gunfights
- Centering. Keep your crosshair where an enemy is most likely to appear, like the headglitch or doorway you're about to clear. Then you only need a small correction, not a big snap. Centering decides a lot of your gunfights. Don't run with your aim on the floor. Fights are won in milliseconds.
- Being on time. A lot of gunfights are lost before the first shot, because you got to the spot or the rotation late. Know where the enemy is coming from. Have your gun up and aimed there before they show.
- Not over-challenging. When you're one-shot, back off, regen and re-peek. Don't force it.
- Trades. Fight close enough to a teammate to get traded. Two of you on an enemy's screen beats one.
How RankKD helps: RankKD grades every gunfight: who hit first, who won, your time-to-kill and your centering. Centering is how close your crosshair already was when the enemy appeared. Fights you took while weak and deaths your team didn't trade come with the clip that shows the mistake.

Hardpoint
- Play for hill time. Kills don't move the score in Hardpoint. A kill only matters if it gets you hill time or moves the spawns your way. A kill on a pinch that doesn't win the hill does nothing.
- Reading spawns. Read spawns off your teammates. A teammate spawning behind you means your spawn hasn't moved. A teammate spawning far across the map usually means an enemy is pushing your spawn. Someone has to turn around and find them.
- Winning the rotation. If an enemy on the rotation is still alive, or you never spotted them, you can get broken straight away. Find them before you call the rotation won.
- Leaving the old hill. Peeling off to block the next spawn with about 20 seconds left is usually safe. At 40 seconds it's too early. The exact timing depends on the map and how far away the next hill is.
- Utility on breaks. Throw your stuns every time you spawn for a break. Never try to break a hill without your tacticals.
How RankKD helps: RankKD breaks your Hardpoint down hill by hill: your time on the hill, deaths from spawn flips, and rotation timing, meaning whether you got to the next hill late.

Search and Destroy (SnD)
- Play your life. Don't leave your team outnumbered. In SnD, that's the first rule.
- Opening duels swing rounds. In BO7's 2026 CDL Stage II, teams that won the opening duel won 66.7% to 88.7% of those rounds.
- Even the most clutch pros lose most outnumbered fights. Going into 2026 Champs, the five CDL players with the most clutches had won 30 of 124 1v2s and 5 of 124 1v3s.
- The clock. Ranked has a 7.5-second defuse. A defender who hasn't started defusing with 7.5 seconds left on the bomb can't win the round.
How RankKD helps: RankKD goes through your SnD round by round: how often you're the first death of the round, your deaths early in the round, whether your deaths got traded, and the outnumbered fights you took.
More in SnD tips.
Overload
Don't escort the carrier as a group. Keep challenging forward. Make the defenders turn and fight you.
How RankKD helps: RankKD breaks your Overload games down ball by ball: your carries, your deliveries, and where you died around the ball.
More in the Overload guide.
Map awareness, setup and practice
- Minimap on a rhythm. Nothing on your screen matters more than the minimap, especially in Ranked. Glance at it every few seconds. Check where your teammates are, where the gaps are and where the enemy will most likely spawn.
- Hear the game. Turn the in-game music off so you hear enemies better.
- A plan, not just queueing. Block off a set practice window. Work on 1 to 3 concrete goals at a time.
How RankKD helps: RankKD maps where you die, clustered by callout, so you can see the spots that cost you on each map. It turns your biggest gaps into session goals and tracks them across sessions, so every practice window starts with a plan.
How does RankKD coach you?
RankKD analyzes after the match, never while you play. No overlays, no assists, no live info, no in-game presence and no mods.
Every match recorded, nothing to press
RankKD spots the lobby, starts recording before the match and files every match in your library. It captures your rank and SR before and after every match. It records up to 4K at 120 frames per second with your inputs, and keeps game audio, mic and party chat on separate tracks.
A grade and your top 3 fixes
After the match, RankKD reviews the footage and grades it like a coach:
- A match grade from S to D, against your own recent matches.
- Your top 3 fixes, in order.
- Every gunfight graded.
- Objective play hill by hill in Hardpoint and round by round in SnD.
- Every kill and death on the timeline.
The video behind every fix
RankKD's coach's note links every mistake to the exact seconds of video that prove it, with your mouse, keyboard or controller inputs on screen. RankKD measures how close your crosshair was on every kill and death and pulls up those moments, so you can check your centering on every match.
What does RankKD measure?
- Gunfights won and first-shot advantage: who hit first and who won.
- Time-to-kill, accuracy, headshot kills and reaction time.
- Centering: how close your crosshair already was when the enemy appeared.
- Deaths traded and trade rate against your rank, plus outnumbered fights.
- Death discipline: deaths while sprinting or reloading, re-peeking without info, taking fights already hurt, or dying right after your own kill.
- Hardpoint: spawn-flip deaths and rotation timing, meaning whether you got to the next hill late.
- SnD: first deaths of the round and deaths early in the round.
- Death heatmaps: where you die on the map, clustered by callout (learn the callouts).
- Tilt detection and performance per map, with your worst map and why.
Every stat is benchmarked against your rank and the rank above. More on how RankKD works.
Your rank, your gaps, your next session
RankKD tracks your rank journey: SR match by match with division lines, SR to go, and a session recap. Since Season 04, only a top-4 finish earns the Scoreboard Bonus on a win. More on how BO7 Ranked pays out in BO7 Ranked SR explained.
RankKD shows your gaps and a playbook against your rank and the rank above. It builds session goals from those gaps and tracks them across sessions. Stats break down by map, mode and weapon, with SR per mode and personal bests. Best moments are auto-tagged, and you can clip anything and share one link.

Who is RankKD's ranked coaching for?

- Solo-queue players. Team VOD review needs all four players. RankKD reviews your own POV, so it works when you queue alone.
- Players who want to review but don't have the time. RankKD finds the moments for you and puts every kill and death on the timeline. See how to VOD review in CoD for what to look for.
RankKD analyzes after the match, never while you play: no overlays, no assists, no live info. RankKD runs on Windows PC and supports Modern Warfare 4 and Black Ops 7. Warzone is in development, and Valorant and Counter-Strike 2 are on the roadmap.
